Bishops Walk - A brief history

Bishops Walk is a small covered shopping arcade, opened in 1990 out of what was the local Co-op Store, and forms a pedestrian link between Brewery Car Park and Cricklade Street in the centre of the town. It derives its name from the once-upon-a-time Bishop Blaize Public House that stood nearby.

It is the only covered shopping centre in Cirencester and upwards of 5000 people each day pass through it.

The present owners WE Black Ltd bought the property in 1998 and the following year acquired the adjoining property fronting Cricklade Street.

Local surveyor David Allberry has been responsible for the day to day management of the Centre since 1994.
