Cirencester Choral Society’s concert at 7.30 on 7 May features Chilcott’s Requiem, premièred in 2010 in Oxford, and a programme of works by Elgar, including the Te Deum and Benedictus written for the Three Choirs Festival of 1897. The soprano and tenor soloists, Sophie Gallagher and Ruairi Bowen, performed the Requiem at last year’s Three Choirs Festival to reviewers’ acclaim. Carleton Etherington conducts and David Whitehead accompanies on organ.
