Detail:
This course is a simple foraging walk where we will identify a number of edible and poisonous wild mushrooms, fruits and plants. The Tunnel House Inn is a charming 18th Century Cotswolds Inn on the outskirts of Cirencester, making it within easy reach of Stroud, Gloucester, Cheltenham, Chippenham, Swindon and even Marlborough. We will meet at The Tunnel House Inn at 12pm. The course starts there with a 20 minute introduction on how to forage safely and sustainably, and a brief of the general countryside codes where they relate to foragers. Then we’ll set off for a roughly 2.5 hour walk around the walk around the stunning Bathurst Estate identifying the different edible and poisonous plants, fruits and mushrooms that we come across. We then discuss and taste our finds over a light lunch.
Ideal for both the total novice and the intermediate forager looking to improve their knowledge, it is also an ideal family outing!
