Detail:
Our venue is the beautifully appointed cellar room at Cirencester’s King’s Head Hotel, where the ambience is relaxed chic, candle-lit and brimming with musical promise. Seating is cafe style to keep things informal and there is wheelchair access, a fully stocked bar with snacks, plenty of parking close by and a truly friendly welcome whether you are young, senior, single or in a larger group.
Dave really is a very special musician. His first instrument is trumpet, but he’s also an excellent guitarist and drummer. He has worked with far too many A list names to mention here, but for a taster how about this - he has notably worked on tours and recorded with Imelda May, Jools Holland, Jeff Beck and Ray Gelato! So there’s no shortage of experience here and in fact performing with these great names has we think given Dave’s playing with an openness and expression that comes with absolute confidence and a sense of knowing who you are as a musician. His lines are beautifully fluid and his sheer musicality are the things that mark him out as one the great UK trumpeters. Dave will present a programme of swing and groove based tunes, many of which we’ll wager you’ll be familiar with and with one of the safest pair of guitar hands - Jez Cook in the band, plus bassist Paul Jefferies and new to the Jazz Cave drummer Mitch Perrins we believe this concert will be a corker.
