In
June 1984, the Town Council undertook the redevelopment of
St Michael's Field. This open-air recreation park, of some
seven acres of landscaped grounds, provides four hard tennis
courts with floodlighting, puting, croquet, mini and crazy
golf, children's adventure playground, swing ball and barbeque,
together with changing rooms and soft drinks, with continued
further investment. The park is now maturing well and has
proved a most attractive addition to local amenities.

Tennis Club, Cirencester Park.
The Club has six hard tennis courts, three with floodlights.
We cater for all standards of tennis with coaching groups
for beginners and improvers. There is Club Night on Wednesday
evenings (from 6.15pm) for the better player, which is preceded
by Junior Club night from 5pm, and Thursday morning mixed
friendly tennis from 10am.
There is a large Junior membership
and organised coaching sessions. We have five Ladies teams,
five Men's teams and Junior teams in the Gloucestershire Tennis
League. The Club Tournament runs throughout the summer with
a final in September and we also have friendly inter-club
matches and the odd American Tournament during the summer. |
