Ann's Pantry
Cirencester
An old fashioned but all
encompassing menu, which is aimed at satisfying American tourists who want to
experience what they imagine is traditional English cooking on a budget. We
had Chicken Curry, Scampi, Pasta Bake, and Roast Lamb, and all thought it good
quality, and good value. We didn't have dessert, but could have had anything
from Sticky Toffee Pudding to Apple Crumble. There was an enormous and intriguing
Sandwich menu. The service was generally friendly and efficient but strangely
intermittent. There was a long delay at another table, before an apology for
running out of a very basic ingredient. Two other items were oddly unavailable,
but still on the blackboards. We heard the Andy Williams-style CD 3 times. Ever
experienced a poetry tape playing in the toilets?
