The Priory Inn deserves its strong local reputation as a great place to
eat. The ever-popular gastro-inn has won many awards since being taken over by the current private
owners in 2004. These include a Harden’s Remy Restaurant Award, Cotswold Life Food and Drink
Awards (“Most Distinctive Local Menu”) and Taste of The West
Silver Dining Pub Awards.

Customer Reviews
We had a Friday girl's night out at the The Priory and we were all really impressed with the food and level of
service. We all had the freshly made pizzas which were delicious. The
atmosphere was buzzing and we had a great night. HIghly recommended and we will defiately return with our
families.

My wife and I decided to try the Priory Inn, Tetbury for dinner last week, as we had been
for lunch previously with the children, and we had been in for the occasional drink (the real
ale is well kept and local as is the sparkling wine we tried). The lunchtime with the children was first
class with everything being made available to keep them amused, from colouring to
making their own pizza which was then cooked on the wood fired oven. The open four sided fireplace was as
warm as the welcome from the staff, and made for a very relaxing afternoon. The
dinner was equally as good, and the fresh food - Devilled Kidneys followed by Aberdeen Angus steak and
rounded off with a delicious lime cheesecake with plum sauce for myself, the fresh
bream for my wife and same dessert - was as good, if not better, than I have had anywhere. The evening was
much more of an adult relaxed restaurant experience. While there were no
children there, the impression that I left with was that they would have been as welcome for dinner as a
lunchtime. The level of service remained high as did the feeling of having found
somewhere special.
Overall we left very satisfied with the standard of service, food and the whole experience. We will
definitely be returning.

"Passing through Tetbury with my wife last Saturday evening we decided to find
somewhere to eat,
but the only place we saw with an easy car parking space was The Priory. But thank goodness we did stop
there. The food was London delicious – the salmon soufflé melted in
one’s mouth – the welcoming fire in the centre of the restaurant nearly decided us to stay,
except that the hotel was full. The main course of lamb’s shank- I was
starving – was just right for a winter’s evening and all in all quite a delightful dinner. And
need I say anything about the upside down pear tart with damson ice cream!! The
friendly staff only added to our disappointment of not being able to stay overnight, but we shall be back,
with a room booked in advance."
