Lick the Spoon opens flagship store in Cirencester

Award winning Wiltshire Chocolatier Lick the Spoon are opening their flagship store in Black Jack Street, Cirencester, Gloucestershire this month. The store will showcase Lick the Spoon’s handmade chocolates, and for the first time, their sumptuous chocolate cakes. A small hot chocolate and coffee bar will complete the store and will be serving their handmade biscotti.

The small family run business has won a string of awards since former professional chef and founder Diana Short started creating chocolates from their home kitchen in 2006. “We’re so excited to finally be realising our vision” explained Diana, “a passion for the finest chocolate, married with recipes that capture the flavours of the West Country with a contemporary twist”.“Cirencester is the perfect location for Lick the Spoon”, explained Diana, “my family live in Gloucestershire”.

A new chocolate factory in Corsham, Wiltshire, at the Southern edge of the Cotswolds, provides the artisan production facility for Lick the Spoon. “We have expanded our small team and now have two new Chocolatiers including 2009 Master Chef Professional quarter finalist Jamie Barnett” explained Diana.

Lick the Spoon have recently secured the prestigious commission of creating the Selfridges Oxford Street store Christmas centrepiece. A giant 1.5 metre high solid chocolate beanstalk together with Jack and the Beanstalk themed luxury chocolate gifts such as the Goose that lays the Golden egg. “ We have to make a midnight Sunday night stealth delivery to Oxford Street in October, and work through the night finishing the beanstalk in time for the Christmas launch the following day”, Diana described.
