Cirencester Fun Run Raises £25,000 For Foundation

Organisers of a 10 kilometre Fun Run on the Bathurst Estate in Cirencester Park are delighted after £25,000 was raised for good causes.

More than 250 runners took part in the event, which raised funds for the St. James’s Place Foundation, a successful grant making charity that gives vital funds to charities registered in the UK.

Event organiser Andrew Hughes, Business Assurance Manager for Cirencester-based St. James’s Place Wealth Management said: “The fun run was once again a huge success and we were delighted to raise £25,000, which we were able to achieve with the help of St. James’s Place matching every £1 raised.”

The event attracted athletes from running clubs all over the region as well as competitors entering for fun, and involved one circuit of the leisure area of Cirencester Park through wooded trails.

The St. James’s Place Foundation was established in 1992, and in the last few years well over £2 million has been raised annually through its community. In 2009, a record £2.6m was raised.

Over 80% of St. James’s Place Wealth Management staff and members of its Partnership make regular contributions to the Foundation via a monthly covenant.

In 18 years, the Foundation has raised more than £18 million, and distributed the majority of those funds to more than 700 charities, with grants ranging from a few hundred pounds to in excess of £1,000,000.
