Appeal for Witnesses to Cirencester Collision

Anyone who witnessed the collision or the pedestrian in the area before the collision and hasn’t spoken to police is urged to call 101, quoting incident 514 of March 15.

Police are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Cirencester last night.

The emergency services were called to a report of a pedestrian who had been struck by a dark BMW 316 Compact at the junction of Watermoor Road and Querns Lane just before 11.15pm on Friday (March 15).

The pedestrian, a 20-year-old local man, was taken to Great Western Hospital in Swindon with cuts and bruises and a head injury that is now not believed to be serious.

The road was closed for over three hours while a collision investigation took place.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or the pedestrian in the area before the collision and hasn’t spoken to police is urged to call 101, quoting incident 514 of March 15.

A 37-year-old local man was arrested shortly after the incident on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a collision and has been bailed to attend Cheltenham police station on May 1, pending further inquiries.
