Fatal collision on M5 - witness appeal

Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the motorbike travelling along this stretch of road prior to the collision are asked to call 101, quoting incident 422 of June 1.

A man died in a collision on the M5 in the county last night (1st June).

The 57-year-old man, from West Yorkshire, was riding a yellow BMW motorbike when it collided with a blue Ford Mondeo between junction 10 and 11 southbound at about 6.50pm yesterday (Sunday June 1).

The next of kin and coroner have been informed.

The driver of the Mondeo, a local woman, was uninjured.

The road remained closed for several hours while police carried out their investigation.
