Corinium Museum, Cirencester
WHAT
IS IT? FIND OUT AT THE CORINIUM MUSEUM!
Ever
wondered what that mystery object is that you've inherited,
dug up in the garden or found in the loft?
Now
you can find out at a special drop-in day at the Corinium Museum
from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, April 30.
Archaeologists
Paula Gentil and Alison Brookes will be on hand to help you
identify your mystery objects.
Paula
said: "Each year many thousands of objects are discovered, by
metal detector users, by people whilst out walking, gardening
or going about their daily work.
"Such
discoveries offer an important source for understanding our
heritage and help archaeologists build a picture of past societies.
We're hoping that we will be able to identify objects for Cotswold
residents, but please note that we won't be able to provide
valuations."
As
well as talking to Alison and Paula, people will be able to
discover more about the Portable Antiquities Scheme and the
Treasure Act
The event is Included in the price of admission to the Museum:
(Adults 3.70, Children/students 2.00, Concessions 2.70)
