Detail:
We’re excited to be running our first Spring courses in Gloucestershire this year by kind permission of the National Trust. Woodchester Park is well situated being just off the M5, within easy reach of Gloucester, Cirencester, Cheltenham, Chippenham and Bristol. We’ll be meeting at the car park at 12pm for a short introduction on what to look for and a brief of the general countryside codes, where they relate to foragers. After the talk we’ll set off for a 2-3 hour walk identifying the different edible and poisonous Spring shoots, plants, flowers and mushrooms that we find. There will be breaks along the way for some homemade refreshments such as our lovely hogweed and wild garlic soup. We will finish the day off with a light wild food lunch based on what we have found. This will include some tasty treats made from our recent finds, a wild salad that we will pick on the day and possibly even some wild garlic pesto that we’ll make in front of you. After the walk we will email you details of all the plants and mushrooms we find to help you remember what you have learnt.
