Churchill Retirement Living is inviting people in Cirencester to join them for coffee and cake at its Beecham Lodge development to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The event, which is part of the charity’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning campaign, takes place on Thursday, 20th September from 10.30am at the development on Somerford Road. Visitors are welcome, and will be treated to coffee, delicious cakes and biscuits in the Owners’ Lounge, with the opportunity to make a donation to Macmillan. Churchill Retirement Living has a special relationship with Macmillan Cancer Support and has raised more than £300,000 for the charity since 2009. It is one of a number of national charities supported by the Churchill Foundation, Churchill’s own registered charity. This is the ninth year the retirement developer has taken part in World’s Biggest Coffee morning, which last year raised over £30,000. Bernadette Hennelley, Regional Marketing Manager at Churchill Retirement Living, said: “We are delighted to once again be involved in Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. The events are not only a fantastic way to raise money for a very worthy cause but also an opportunity to get the local community together. We have set an ambitious fundraising target of £35,000 for Macmillan this year and we hope people in Cirencester will join us at Beecham Lodge to help us raise lots of money to support the great work the charity does. “Our Lodges offer a sense of community and companionship, and this event is an ideal opportunity for visitors to also experience the lifestyle on offer here. Many of our Owners regularly take advantage of the communal facilities on offer, including the Owners’ Lounge where we hold regular coffee mornings and fun social events like this.” Beecham Lodge is a stylish collection of 35 one and two bedroom privately-owned retirement apartments. Each apartment has been designed exclusively for those in their retirement years and has a number of safety and security features, such as a 24 hour emergency call line and a video entry system, for complete peace of mind. There is also an on-site Lodge Manager, who oversees the running of the development, and an Owners’ Lounge, which can be used as a place to enjoy a catch up with neighbours, or for holding events. The development is set in landscaped grounds in a central location, just a short distance from public transport links, shops and all the local amenities on offer in Cirencester.
