Walter Trout and the Radicals at the Corn Hall

Billed as one of the worlds greatest rock blues guitarists Walter Trout stops off at The Corn Hall, Cirencester on Thursday April,13th as part of his current UK tour.

Having played alongside some of the biggest names in Blues including John Lee Hooker, Big Mama Thornton, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers and Canned Heat, Walter Trout has earned his reputation as one of the finest in the business.

In a BBC radio poll, Trout was ranked 6th out of the top 20 all-time greatest guitarists, where a few more votes would've landed him snugly in the Top 5 amongst Jimi Hendrix and Jimmy Page!

From introspection to full blown rockin' blues, Trout's music is always marked by his adept song writing, sturdy vocals, searing guitar work and ability to enhance the boundaries of one of music's oldest forms. But as Trout is quick to point out, "the blues shouldn’t be a museum. The music ought to constantly expand and be alive."

Cotswold District Council Leisure Officer Claire Newport said: “Both on record and on stage Trout keeps the art of the Blues thriving and vivacious. With ten albums under his belt and a host of awards this musician is a must see.”

Tickets cost £15 in advance / £16 on the door (available from Cirencester Tourist Information Centre on 01285 654180 and Swindon on 01793 530328).

Doors open 8.15pm.
