Pool Together For Charity Swimathon Sessions
Splash out the cash and help Marie Curie Cancer raise much-needed funds with Swimathons at the Cirencester and Bourton Cotswold Leisure Centres on Saturday April 17th.
The charity swimming event at Cirencester’s pool will begin at 6pm – already over 50 swimmers have signed up, either swimming on their own or as a team. The Bourton event starts at 4pm and there are currently 9 swimmers enrolled.
Each entrant will be doing a choice of three distances; 1.5km (60 lengths of the pool), 2.5km (100 lengths) or 5km (200 lengths) and all the money raised will help the fight against cancer.
More swimmers would be very welcome at both centres. Anyone wishing to take part should register online at www.swimathon.org and sign up.
Andrea North, the manager at Cotswold Leisure Cirencester, said: "This is a fantastic chance for anyone who can swim to take part in a huge nationwide charity drive.
"People who come along are not only doing their bit for a very worthwhile charity, but they are also keeping fit and healthy at the same time."
Jo Whitfield at Bourton added: "We have 15 more spaces at the pool here and we would love to see more volunteers coming forward to make it a really memorable occasion."
Staff at Cirencester are also still looking for a few volunteers to help with the event - if anyone is keen please contact Amy Morris on 01285 654057.
