Corinium Museum Broadcasts To The Nation

BBC Radio 2's Jeremy Vine lunch time show will feature Cirencester''s Corinium Museum on Friday 14th May.

The Corinium Museum will be centre stage on Friday 14th May when it will feature in the BBC Radio 2 Jeremy Vine Show, which is focusing on the national Museums at Night campaign. The award-winning Corinium, which boasts some of the finest examples of Roman antiquities outside of London, is one of only four museums to have been singled out for this special attention.

BBC reporter Sonia Poulton will be touring the museum and commenting on the exhibits which she feels will be of particular interest to listeners. Later in the evening the Corinium will be opening its doors for a special session from 6pm to 9.30pm with a Roman theme. Highlights will include trails of the galleries with a few surprise guests, an exhibition of work by Cirencester College students, and a showing of the comedy thriller ''Night at the Museum 2''.

Curator John Paddock commented: "Friday promises to be a special day for usl at the museum and the Jeremy Vine feature will be the icing on the cake. I am very pleased that we have been singled out for this special treatment – it''s a fitting tribute to all the staff who have put in such hard work to make this event a success."

Admission to the evening session is by ticket only. There are still a few left but they are going quickly. Contact the Corinium Museum on 01285 655611 or email [email protected] for further information.
