Geoffrey Clifton-Brown, MP for the Cotswolds, has officially launched a new NHS dental practice in Cirencester. The launch follows the recent announcement by Health Secretary Andrew Lansley to inject a further £28 million to provide more accessible NHS dental care in the UK.

Genix Healthcare has invested nearly £300,000 in to the new practice on Dugdale Road. It provides access to NHS dentistry for more than 7000 local people who are encouraged to register their place. It is staffed by four dentists, employing eight staff in total, and offers routine NHS dental care for all patients as well as emergency care.

Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP was joined by local dignitaries including The Mayor of Cirencester Andy Lichnowski to view the new clinic.

Sian Nelson-Jones, Clinical Director at Genix Healthcare gave guests a tour of new state-of-the-art facilities in the clinic which departs from the traditional dental practice layout with a unique Hollywood themed backdrop.

Sian said, “We are delighted to bring much needed NHS dental care for the people of Cirencester and currently have many places available for new registrations. We are proud to offer a completely new experience in dental care within a totally unique and more comforting environment for patients.”

Sian also revealed plans to take on new dental apprentices in the region. This is part of Genix Healthcare’s significant investment of £250,000 in to its nationwide apprenticeship programme.

She continues, “This is the first major apprenticeship initiative by a dental corporate and helps to address the growing number of young people seeking work where more than a third of those currently unemployed are under 25 years old. We are committed to provide an exceptional standard of dental care but also support job creation in
Cirencester.”

After viewing the clinic and meeting staff Geoffrey Clinfton-Brown MP said, “This is a fantastic new facility for the people of Cirencester. We have spent quite a few years campaigning to make sure local
people could have better access to NHS dentistry and this is great credit to the local PCT. Genix Healthcare is a good partner that is able to deliver a first class service and take on a significant number of
new NHS funded patients. Apprenticeships is something close to my heart and I am delighted to see Genix making such a major commitment to train young people in our area.”

The Cirencester Genix Healthcare practice on Dugdale Road offers routine NHS dental care for all patients and emergency care. Patients wishing register for NHS dental care at this practice should call 01285 654895.
