See Cirencester's Christmas lights switch on and park for free after 4pm on Friday 30 November

"we are hopeful that this concession will boost trade for the Christmas market stall holders and other traders in the town.”
Cllr David Fowles

Cotswold District Council will suspend parking charges at the Forum and Waterloo car parks in Cirencester after 4 pm on Friday 30 November to tie in with the town’s Christmas lights switch-on at 5.20 pm.

CDC officers will place ‘A boards’ at the entrance to each car park on 30 November informing motorists about the free parking offer which is valid for that evening.

Commenting on the decision, the Cabinet member for the Environment, Cllr David Fowles, said:
“We approached Cirencester Town Council and offered to suspend charges at the Forum and Waterloo car parks for that particular evening in the hope that it would make it easier financially for families to attend this year’s switch-on event. The Town Council readily agreed to our proposal and we are hopeful that this concession will boost trade for the Christmas market stall holders and other traders in the town.”
