Emergency Waste Collection Points are available from 23 to 25 January

All Household Recycling Centres across the county are open seven days a week from 9 am to 6.15 pm. The nearest one for most Cotswold residents is at Fosse Cross (just off the A429 near Calmsden)

Despite the adverse weather in the district today, Cotswold District Council has confirmed that the following three emergency waste pick up points will be operating between 8 am and 2 pm on: Wednesday 23 January, Thursday 24 January, and Friday 25 January.

Cirencester Lorry Park
Fairford – High Street Car Park
Lechlade – Town Council Offices

Residents who have not received collections this week (and last Friday 18 January) have the option of taking their bagged non-recyclable waste and kitchen waste to these sites. Alternatively, they may wish to store their waste at home because CDC’s contractor, Ubico Ltd, is planning to carry out a ‘double collection’ on their next scheduled fortnightly collection date.

Ubico are asking everyone using the emergency sites to respect the opening times and not to leave bags there when it is clear that operations have ceased. They will be erecting signs to warn about the dangers of leaving unattended waste in the car parks.

All Household Recycling Centres across the county are open seven days a week from 9 am to 6.15 pm. The nearest one for most Cotswold residents is at Fosse Cross (just off the A429 near Calmsden). The site operates a booking system for those wishing to deposit waste from vans, pick-ups or vehicles with trailers with a load space larger than 6 ft x 4 ft. To make a reservation for these types of loads, or if you have any other queries, please telephone 0845 602 9344.

CDC and Ubico officials are assessing weather conditions on a daily basis and will continue to provide updates on the council’s website www.cotswold.gov.uk and in the media. Waste collections have been cancelled for the week Monday 21 to Friday 25 January. Any queries regarding CDC collections should be directed to the waste hotline on 01285 623 123.

The Cotswold District Council offices in Trinity Road, Cirencester and Moreton Area Centre, the Corinium Museum, and Cotswold Leisure facilities at Bourton, Chipping Campden, Cirencester, Fairford and Tetbury are all open for business today.
