Move over Glastonbury: Phoenix Festival Countdown Begins

Coming to the Abbey Grounds Cirencester on the 29th and 30th June, the line up for the Cotswold's first ever youth led music and arts festival is hotting up as preparations enter the final stage.
The completely free two-day festival will feature 21 local acts including internationally renowned metal band 'Dealer' (Sunday Headliners) and unique UK hip-hop duo 'Profound Poets'.
The day won't just be about eclectic music from the Cotswolds region either, with a host of local shops, pop-up stalls, traders, artists, food and drink experts and charities hosting stalls at the event.
The likes of Corinium Ales will have some of the regions finest hand-crafted beverages, Sam's converted VW camper van champagne bar will be providing cocktails while niche shops such as Japanese culture inspired Tokyo Dolls will have a range of unique and beautiful gifts on sale.
The activities village will provide fun for everyone, including the young children. Visitors can expect bouncy castles, gladiator jousting, human inflatable football table, sumo suits, African drumming, circus skills workshops and free-running demonstrations by FIDO.
The action packed event will also feature a pop-up skate park supported by Decimal Skate Shop, open to anyone looking for an opportunity to show their skills and featuring displays from some of Cirencester's budding pro-skaters.
The festival, made possible thanks to support from Bromford and Cirencester Town Council, as well as charitable grants and local businesses, is set to be Cirencester's answer to Glastonbury festival, also happening over the same weekend.
However what makes the community bonanza different to the legendary Glastonbury festival is that Phoenix doesn't have 100's of full-time support staff behind the scenes, but 14 young people.
Led by Bromford's Clare Bartlett, who has worked with hundreds of young people in the area, as well as youth town council initiative Ozone Cirencester, the Festival's inception came about following workshops delivered by two social enterprises; Enabling Enterprise and We Do Ideas.
Working to boost the participant's business skills, over 80 ideas were brainstormed, before eventually being narrowed down to four achievable ideas: a music festival, a youth cinema, an engineering skills exchange garage and an youth innovation hub & café.
Clare said; "Festival meetings have taken place every Monday evening and an amazing amount of dedication has been shown by every member of this group. What these young people have achieved in such a short amount of time with guidance and support is truly amazing."
Clare also thanks local community members and businesses alike for their support. She said; "The festival is set to be a smash and we're just putting the finishing touches to what we hope will be a great weekend. I know all 14 team members are grateful for the support from Bromford and Cirencester Town Council, as well as grants from the National Lottery and O2."
