New Year Fundraiser for Cotswold Volunteers - a celebration of the Malt in the Cotswolds
Friends of Cotswold Volunteers was set up to help support and raise awareness of the charity and the services it provides

The Friends of Cotswold Volunteers will hold their first major fundraising event on Saturday 16th February, a Whisky Dinner in the magnificent confines of Cirencester Parish Church.

The five-course dinner will be hosted by world-famous journalist, “whisky chef” and Islay resident Martine Nouet. A whisky cocktail will be offered with the canapés, and each course will be accompanied by a malt whisky chosen by Martine. Martine is known in France as “La reine de l'Alambic” (“the queen of the still”). She sits on the judging panel of the International Wine & Spirit Competition in London, and is a regular contributor to Whisky Magazine, whose French edition she founded in 2004. She knows everything there is to know about matching food to spirits, so guests can be sure of a superb meal.

Guests looking forward to a taste of Scotland can also expect some of its sound. Traditional Gaelic harpist Eleanor Holley has travelled south of the border for the occasion, and naturally there will be a piper attending to the dinner.

Tickets for this unique and exciting event are available from Cotswold Volunteers Tel: 01285 658802. More details about the menu and chosen whisky can be found on the charity’s website www.cotswoldvolunteers.org
