New traffic management plans in place for Cotswold Show

Plans are well underway for the Show to be held in Cirencester Park on 2nd and 3rd July 2016 and following feedback from visitors and local residents, there will be extra traffic management in place to speed up access onto the Showground.
A second entrance will be opened and accessed via Cirencester Park Polo Club (GL7 6JT), leading to the main Show car park.
Show traffic coming from the Stroud area will be using this entrance, as well as traffic from Tetbury, Chippenham and M4 Junction 14, which will be diverted through Coates village. This should alleviate delays at the roundabout at the top of Old Tetbury Road leading to Deer Park School. The entrance at the School (GL7 1XB) will then be accessed by traffic from Cirencester, Swindon and the Cotswolds.
Show Director Claudia Wilson says: “We have worked closely with the Highways Agency, Gloucestershire County Council and Gloucestershire Constabulary on a plan that will mean access to the Show should be easier. And we would encourage visitors to arrive before 10.30am if they can.
Visitors are urged to follow the AA signs that will be in place for the duration of the Show.
Now in its 28th year, the Cotswold Show and Food Festival remains one of the Cotswold’s most popular rural events, with its winning mix of family entertainment, arena attractions, and 300 trade stands and food stalls, showcasing the best of the British countryside, its history, traditions and produce with some inspiring traders from further afield as well.
Headlining the main Bathurst Arena will be the very popular Royal Signals Motorcycle Display Team - The White Helmets. Recognised by many as the best in the world, the Team has been performing for over 80 years. The volunteer soldiers from the Corps will take part in stunning displays with feats of balance, death defying crossover rides and outstanding acrobatics.
The Shetland Pony Grand National is making a welcome return to the Show, a gruelling course of fences to qualify for a place at this year’s London International Horse Show, raising money for the Bob Champion Cancer Trust in the process.
Originally founded as a showcase for countryside pursuits, visitors can expect to learn all about traditional rural skills through demonstrations and hands-on experience. Have a go at shooting clays, archery and even ferret racing, and watch the experts at work in displays of falconry, saddlery, beekeeping, wood carving and more.
Show Partners, BPE Solicitors and Moore Allen and Innocent, will both be prominent at the Show with their own stands featuring entertainment and refreshments for clients.
